Welcome to Music A to Z
Welcome to Music A to Z, an outreach program of the Fine Arts Chamber Players.
Using musical instruments as a vehicle, our program targets emergent literacy skills in pre-school and kindergarten students. They experience each letter of the alphabet through song, instrument demonstration and movement. There are counting exercises with the strings of different instruments, size and pitch comparison, imaginary journeys using sound effects, demonstrating the concept of opposites and movement to musical cues.
This 25-minute program is performed in the classroom, giving the children a more intimate experience with the instruments. Programs are tailored to meet the needs of each class based on the units being studied, languages spoken, and learning differences that may apply.
We have designed a take-apart-cello that can be played and explored by the children.
