About the Students
Music A to Z serves the musical needs of young children, ages three to five, primarily in low-income communities. Many of these children are at risk and attend programs focused on building the skills they are lacking for success in school. Studies consistently show that children who enter the third grade reading at or above grade level are more likely to remain in school.
Music A to Z works with children attending schools that are considered to be "low
performing" according to the Texas Accountability Rating System. These schools often
do not have the resources for learning enrichment programs.
Through the Fine Arts Chamber Players, Music A to Z is able to provide these programs
free of charge to schools that meet certain criteria.
